About Boorowa

Boorowa is a small country town of approximately 1,400 people located between Yass and Cowra in New South Wales, in Ngunnawal, Gundungurra and Wiradjuri countries. In addition to its rich Aboriginal history, the town is widely known for its Irish heritage, personified by Irish political convicts Edward “Ned” Ryan (1786-1871), and his cousin Roger Corcoran (1787-1859) who came to the region in the 1820s.
